WHEN DID YOU FIRST GET IN TO SURFING?
I first tried wakesurfing on a friends boat in late 2016.
HOW OFTEN ARE YOU SURFING?
Being in Alberta, I get out as often as our summers allow and any other chance I get.
WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE BOARD?
The Phase 5 Ahi (surf style) and the Phase 5 Key (skim style).
WHAT DOES A SUMMER DAY IN THE LIFE OF BAILEY LOOK LIKE?
I get up at 6 am and look outside to see if the trees are moving much or not.. if they aren’t- it’s a good sign that the lake is glass! When I first started wakesurfing, we went out no matter what the wind was like because it taught me good control of my board! I still train in the wind, but not all the time because it is difficult with higher level tricks. I also enjoy going for runs, doing yoga, or coaching when I’m not wakesurfing! I really enjoy creating online wakesurf lessons because they can watch their lesson video from wherever they are and they can watch it as many times as they’d like! Closer to the evening, I check the water again and go wakesurfing or give more lessons if possible!
WHAT DO YOU DO WHEN YOU'RE NOT SURFING?
When I’m not wakesurfing, I am coaching wakesurfing online or in-person, running, walking my dog, doing yoga, doing work or figure skating! I love being outside as much as I can!
WHAT INSPIRED YOU TO USE SUPRA?
The Supra wave has such incredible push and length- a very smooth wave! I really like this because it compliments how I like to surf which includes a lot of flow and transitions.
HOW LONG DO YOU PLAN TO COMPETE?
As long as I can! I love competing to push the limits in this sport for females, along with introducing other surfers into the competitive side.
WHAT ARE 5 THINGS YOU LIKE MOST ABOUT YOUR SUPRA THAT OU HAVEN'T SEEN IN OTHER BOATS?
There are so many things that I like, but I really love:
- The wave!!!!
- Power folding tower for the ease of cleaning and covering. You can also tow with the cover on which is awesome.
- Supra is the sharpest looking boat on the water, and the new sound system for 2024 is incredible.
- The handling is amazing- so nice to drive. It can be choppy and our boat sits nice and still in the water when taking a break from surfing. The memory seat function is great for switching out drivers.
- The surf locker in the back to put wet gear to keep the inside of the boat dry!
WHAT INSPIRED YOU TO START SURFING?
I was starting to wakeboard and waterski in 2016 when our friend took me out to give wakesurfing a try. I was hooked!
