Moomba: What’s New?

  • The Roswell E/PEX wake tower may be the most exciting new feature of all 2024 Moomba models, having numerous power buttons located on the tower itself. The battery switch for the entire unit is located here to easily turn the boat on and off, alongside power buttons that fold and retract the tower to make over-the-tower cover installation easier than ever before. To upgrade your music game, the boat’s Roswell audio speakers are now able to spin 360° so that you are in control of where your music is facing. The Roswell features don’t stop there, Moomba has also included Roswell watersport racks that have the same easy swivel as before, but now have hooks that add greater security to your boards.

Additionally, the E/PEX tower and PRO tower both include tow hooks on the sides of their tower that make it easier for new surfers to get up.

  • The redesigned dashboard with dual touch screens has changed the game for how your driver can control and tailor their boat’s performance. The first screen is essentially for functionality, completing tasks such as adjusting ballast levels to fine-tuning surf systems, and is only available in the Kaiyen, Craz, Mojo, and Makai. Here you will have activity presets where you can choose your preferred activity (surf left or right, wakeboard, cruising, etc.), and the boat will adjust your ballast levels, cruise speed, and plate positions accordingly. Your second screen will be used for entertainment: music control, depth readings, charts, user-friendly topo maps for the bottom of the lake, and other mapping systems.

  • The new dual stern thrusters, only available on the Mojo and Makai models, will make you a more confident driver for safer maneuvering and parking. Its intuitive control system, seamlessly integrated into the throttle knob, allows you to calmly direct the thrust in the desired direction with stable and controlled movement.

  • Upgraded surf pipe exhaust

  • Passenger dash with a second glove box area and a wireless phone charger to keep your devices charged and ready to go while on the water.

Supra: What’s New?

  • Included as an optional feature of the 2024 Supra models is a drop step that deploys from underneath your swim platform with a click of a button. This new drop step makes it easier to get in and out of the water, and to retract it you simply hit the retract button located in the back of the boat.

  • The redesigned towers also have the boat’s battery switch located on them similar to Moomba; however, Supra has included luxury DSD speakers both embedded in the tower and hung from above to give your audio system a sleek and modern feel with maximum audio performance, using a total of 22 speakers - two of which being 12-inch subs. With these speakers you will get top-tier clarity no matter the volume. Different from the new Moomba watersport racks, Supra has included a crank and release system rather than hooks. The crank and release is comparative to a hydraulic system that secures your boards with the tension and sets them free to grab when released. And for when you are done being in the water, the tower has hooks along its sides for your convenience when drying your life jackets and comp vests.

  • Redesigned dash with a rudder position sensor that will let you know when the boat is pointed center or is turning. This information about your boat’s direction is relayed through a needle. Additionally, the integrated electronic steering can return you to center by itself when you want, and a steering resistance option can be used during wakesurfing or coming into the dock to reduce resistance in the steering wheel and make maneuvering easier.

  • The new freshwater wash down system includes a hose that allows you to wash the inside of your boat, feet and other areas while you are on the water!

  • Although the cool-tech seats are not a new feature, they are an honorable mention as they keep you from burning up while on the vinyl seats. Sit comfortably when on the water all day.

Wakesurf FAQs

Q. What is Autowake and when should I use it?

A. Creating the perfect wave is not as simple as it appears; every rider is different, but with Autowake, you can personalize the size and shape of your wave to accommodate each surfer. Autowake is a leading technology featured in all standard Moomba & Supra models that allows the driver to create and adjust your wake and surf waves instantly with the touch of a button. This system takes some pressure off the driver by automatically adjusting ballast levels, and allows the rider to spend more time on the waves rather than waiting for boat adjustments. Autowake should be used when switching sports, riders, and when you have different number of people in your boat due to weight changes.

Q. Is more ballast always better?

A. Generally, the rule of thumb is that more ballast weight makes a better wake and a larger pocket, however, wakeboarding and wakesurfing differ in their preferences. For wakeboarding, you want to aim for around a 50/50 balance between the front and rear ballast since the even distribution will help reduce the angle of the prop shaft and allow you to accelerate faster. For wakesurfing, on the other hand, you want a much stronger wave the allows the rider to surf without the rope – this means you want more weight on the back of the boat so that your waves are much taller and longer.

Q. How do I make my wave bigger and more powerful?

A. When it comes to surf wave size and power, boat speed and pitch is where you will want to focus your attention. Typically, a larger pitch angle equals more push, and a smaller pitch angle means a longer wave, but with less push. Push essentially means the power of your wave and the push your surfer will feel behind them. For boat speed, going slower is going to make your waves taller, but it’s going to shorten your waves length. Fast boats will work in contrast and give you a longer wave at a much smaller height. Thus, for a taller and more powerful wave you will want a lower boat speed with a smaller pitch angle.

Q. Does water depth affect my wave?

A. It is best to wakesurf in deep water - at least 12ft deep, but ideally you want 20+ft - to allow the wave to fully form and ballast to completely fill. With less water underneath your boat, you cannot create your ideal wave and your rider will get a greatly reduced trampoline feeling while surfing that they would otherwise get in deeper waters.
